Name: Sanni
Gender: Female
Age: 17 turns
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Rank: Candidate
Appearance: Her long dark hair is a source of near-constant annoyance to Sanni. It is usually worn in a long plait down her back or wrapped around her head. She prefers to wear nondescript tunics and trousers. She views dresses as impractical, especially in the weyr, generally only wearing them at feasts and other important events at which she must look feminine. Slippers are rarely seen on her feet, boots being her preferred footwear.
Her skin is fairly pale, as she is often kept busy in the kitchens or lower caverns. She prefers not to stand out in her dress or look, though she would never be called anything close to ugly. The only thing that she has no control over is her bright green eyes that would stand out even if her hair were matted and pulled over them. They sometimes bring her unwanted attention, thus she often stands with her head bent or eyes cast down.
Personality: She is not overly friendly. It can take a lot to get this unobtrusive weyrbrat to talk to a stranger or even someone she knows. When she does get riled up enough to talk, though, watch out! Her tongue can be as sharp as a dragon's talon, so getting on her bad side is not a good idea at all. Thankfully, it usually takes a lot to become her enemy; though it is only slightly less difficult to become a friend. She has a tendency to keep to herself.
Sanni is dedicated to the weyr. She is not particularly interested in any one person or group of people in the weyr, and she naturally treats all people the same, from the Weyrleaders to the lowest drudge, which can rub some of the more duty and honor driven inhabitants of the weyr the wrong way. She works hard at everything she does, generally keeping her opinions to herself. She only gives her opinion when she believes it will benefit the weyr, though she will try to knock some sense into someone that she thinks needs it.
She does not blindly cling to the weyr, instead she holds herself (and unwittingly, others) to a strict moral code. If the weyr suddenly became a place that she felt was no longer worth what she gave to it, she would not hesitate to say something, and if that advice was ignored, she would leave without a second thought, with or without the Weyrleader’s consent. Sanni will also punish herself if she feels that she has done anything agaist that code, sometimes being too harsh in her self-punishment.
History: Born the daughter of one of the cavern women and a rider, she has grown up as any other child in the weyr. She has not chased after riders as many of the other young women of the weyr do, nor has there been much interest in her on the riders' parts. She has done what she needed to and that is all she cares to say about it. Lately she has been trying to take care of her brother Jeror while still doing her own work.
I wasn't going to bring her in, but I just couldn't resist. ^^ I love 'er.
